Bike Jogging with your Dog
Bike Jogging is not the same as Bike Joring More information coming soon !!
Dog Jogging It is great exercise for you and your dog. The dog is attached to the bike with a spring and runs beside you.
Bike Joring The dog or dogs in harness are attached to the front of the bike with a towline or gangline and the dog pull and run.
This is more dangerous and should be done with well trained dogs.
Most important - have your dog checked by a vet to make sure your dog is healthy enough for this type of exercise!
It is important to start your dog out slow and start training in an area with room and very little distractions.
Avoid biking in hot weather and always carry water for your dog.
Check your dogs pads often for injuries.
Be considerate of others and slow down when passing other people.
Pick up after your dog!
Take breaks if you are on a long trail.

When you first introduce your dog to bike jogging, hook your dog up and walk him/her along the bike first so they know what to expect and get used to the sounds and movement of the bike. Gently turn the bike into your dog with the words "NO". After a few times, they will get the idea that they do not want to turn into the bike. Much easier to do this while walking the bike then to be riding the bike where both could be injured.
