Tonka really enjoys wearing his backpack as we hike on the trails in the Colorado Rockies.

He is confident and sure footed on the trails and rocks. His loyalty amazes me with every trip.

As I take a break and sit on the rocks edge to admire the view, he looks as if he admires it too.

Tonka - not only is he great on the trails but also a great companion.

His love and loyalty is effortless.

If a dog truely enjoys what he is doing -
is it still work?

The temperature is below zero. My fingers, toes and nose are painfully cold.

He looks up with a grin from ear to ear and tail waging back and forth .

- how do I tell him its time to stop?

Do not follow where the path may lead..

Go instead.. where there is no path and leave a trail.

Even if you are on the right trail,

You will get run over if you just sit there.

  Hike Up!
